Students interview John Holland-Kaye: their articles

We have been working with Campus Industries (student marketing company) to promote Heathrow’s recent consultation and the need for young people to get involved. As well as doing a series of pop-ups at universities during the consultation period, we invited two student ambassadors, Ilona Bushell and Alisa Anwar from Campus Industries to interview John Holland Kaye. IIona and Alisa then wrote their own articles on the interview.

Rachel's Spring Update

This year is a really significant one for those affected by Heathrow Airport and therefore a very important and busy one for us. There are two consultations happening - one focusing on airspace which has just finished and one about the proposed expansion, which will open this summer. In addition, as many of you will be aware, five judicial reviews challenging the legality of the government’s National Policy Statement to support a third runway at Heathrow airport have begun in the high court.

My overarching priority…

On Thursday 31 January we hosted Aviation Minister, Liz Sugg, at a coffee morning in Harmondsworth village. READ: Heathrow respond to the HCEB's questions on the land referencing letters

If you live in the Compulsory Purchase Zone (CPZ) or the Wider Property Offer Zone (WPOZ), you have probably received a land referencing letter from Heathrow Airport.

Independence and Communication - Priorities from HCEB's First Forum

The Heathrow Community Engagement Board (HCEB) had its first forum on Tuesday 18 July. Over 60 key stakeholders representing a broad cross section of the Heathrow community (full list below) met for a discussion around what the priorities of the HCEB should be. It also heard from Heathrow Airport about the next steps of the proposed expansion consultation and had a presentation from independent advisor and former lead inspector of the Planning Inspectorate, Gideon Amos OBE about what good consultation looks like.

Statement by the HCEB on the House of Commons vote in favour of the NPS statement

Today's vote in the House of Commons allows Heathrow to further develop its expansion plans and ultimately seek planning consent. Whilst there are very mixed reactions to this news, not least amongst the local communities, there are also many shared concerns including noise, air quality, night flights and traffic congestion. For those people living or working within the compulsory purchase zone, the impact of the MPs' decision will be immediate and profound.

Rachel blogs about her first month

When I took up my post 4 weeks ago, I said my highest priority was getting out and about, meeting people in the local communities and hearing their views, especially Heathrow's closest neighbours. I have spent much of my time doing just that, with several visits to the closest villages and more planned in the near future.
