Our first Residents’ Forum will be taking place at 6pm on Wednesday 17 October 2018 at Colnbrook Village Hall, Vicarage Way, SL3 0RF.
Ensuring that the residents most impacted by the airport are properly represented is absolutely critical to the HCEB. Anyone seeking to do so must be able to demonstrate a commitment to and deep understanding of our five core values – particularly independence.
Applications for the role of Residents’ Chair closed on 1 October and each of the applications was thoroughly reviewed against the person specification. After careful consideration, it is the collective view of the HCEB Team and the Board of Directors that none of the candidates meet the essential criteria required for the role. As a result, the Board of Directors decided that we should consult the communities further on how we can best represent their needs rather than proceed with the current process.
It is so important that we get this right and fully understand what communities want from the HCEB. This was reaffirmed a couple of weeks ago when Rachel & Guido had the opportunity to attend the Open London event in Harmondsworth. Despite uncertain weather at the start of the day, the torrential rain had passed and the sun was shining. From displays of working vintage fire engines to being able to exploring inside the Great barn, it was a fantastic display of the community which exists around the airport. They spent the day chatting with residents about their community and about what they wanted from the HCEB.
The Residents’ Forum will still go ahead on the evening of the 17th October because we want to have that conversation. If you live in a postcode starting SL0, SL3, TW4, TW5, TW6, TW15, TW19, UB3, or UB7, we would love to see you there.
